Titled in reference to the new section of motorway that will cut through the south of Glasgow, M74 is also a sort of code-name for an unusual machine, made quickly to achieve a specific function – to project an expanding-contracting beam of light onto the crumbling walls of Glasgow’s Glue Factory.
